Default Master Cylinder

Ok so ive searched around here and got results on how to successfully change the master cylinder but on other places i have looked it says when im done i need a tech 1 scan tool to auto bleed the abs. Do i need this to do it or can i change the master cylinder without the tech 1 scan tool. i need to change the master cylinder because it is going bad and when i stand on the brakes long enough it sinks to the floor, i plan on doing this tomorrow if i dont need the scan tool (im no longer driving it until then, im not messing around with brakes).

Forget the auto-bleed and just bench-bleed it before install.

yeah its not to hard to do, i did it a month or so ago.

Took two people if you dont have somthing to hold it with.

I held it while my Brother pushed the plunger in and let it come back out.

took a while to get all the air out but it worked

Car stops much better not, and the peddle feels firmer

Make sure you bleed all 4 corners after the install.

can you do that with the wheels on? i have to do the front brakes anyway just because i got new pads but i already did the rear brakes and dont want to have to take the wheels off again, i will if i have to, its probably easier too but if its just as easy to leave them on i would rather do that

hah, IMO you CAN do it wit them on, but you had better be made of clay its doable with a flashlight but make sure the back is raised...otherwise faggetaboutit. So. Back on ramps, front on jackstands. it seems doable to me, but taking off the wheels seems alot less of a hassle :P

Technically.. I'm sure someone could say it'* possible to do with the wheels on..

You'll spend more time and effort than starting by taking the wheels off

Yeah, take the wheels off and, I know that its gonna sound like a no brainer but, I recommend you start bleeding from the wheel furthest from the MC. Meaning the right rear.
