drive belts?
Where'* the least expensive place to buy new belts?
And do you guys know cross-reference part numbers for all the different brands of belts?
When I bought the last set for my '92 sse */c, I found that one of the belts from the auto parts store didn't fit the car so I had to bring it back and get a slightly longer belt. The difference in size between what they sold me and what actually fit was only about 1/2" in length or so...not much, but even 1/2" too short won't fit. Do any of you know a range of lengths that'll fit, and how to decode the length from the part number?
I think the generic belts for the '92/'93 */c engines are the 610k6 (61.0"? with 6 ribs) and the 865k6 (86.5"? with 6 ribs). I know the GM numbers too, but it'd cost less to get belts from somewhere other than the dealer, right?

I buy my Gatorbacks at Autozone. They usually have one in stock and can order the other. They're not much more than the cheaper belts, and have a much better design. Their part numbers for your car will be correct. When the belts are new (before they stretch under use) they can seem too short, but they do fine.
There'* a rumbling in topic here that there may be a recall on the Gatorbacks. Check with Autozone. Recall or not, I'd trust them completely.
