Spark Plug Wire Replacement Question--95 Series I SC
Help!!!
I am trying to replace my spark plug wires and I don't know how to remove the front wire retainer/separator from the valve cover. Anyone have the answer? I don't want to break it and I can't seem to find screws or bolt. Dipstick is also in the way.
Need help ASAP

If it'* like mine, there are plastic tabs underneath the retainer. Pull them back from the bottom edge of the valve cover, and lift the retainer up. The dipstick tube should just pull out.
Let me know if it works!

Thank you for your help! I was able to use your posts as a guide and successfully changed my wires. Now my Bonnie performs like the champ it was intended to be. It is amazing the difference spark plug wires will make in performance. I was running the original, numbered wires with 91,000 miles on the odometer. It was starting to buck under the slightest load.
Thanks again for your help.

I've gotten more help than I've dished out here. Glad I could help someone. I bought my car in May, after it sat in a garage for 5 years. I changed the plugs out in July, and couldn't believe the difference. Now I know, too, what it'* supposed to feel like! 2 of my plugs were eroded to .090! You just gapped yours, so you know what it was supposed to be.

The 95 SE and SSE were series II, but the SSEi was still series I. The series II SSEi didn't come out til 97, I think. Since he has the SC stock on an SE, I think he'* still Series I. I believe the clips are similar on both, anyway.

Jr,
Yes they are rare. When I bought mine in '01 it was the first time I had ever seen one. I was looking for either an SSEi or a GMC Yukon GT. I found a Yukon GT at a dealer but they wouldn't negotiate. At the same time, a friend of the family who happened to work for a Pontiac dealer, told me that he had brought an SSEi in on trade. Well, it was an SE with the SC option. I almost didn't buy it because it wasn't an SSEi (in my opinion one of the few plastic cladded pontiacs that look great). When the Yukon GT fell through, I took a second look at the Bonneville. Then I test drove the beast and fell in love with it. I like the sleeper look with the killer engine combo.
After I bought it, I started looking around for other SESC'*. I have only seen three other examples, two '95s in Kalamazoo (a university town with a lot of student turnover) that I haven't seen since, and a '96 in one of the threads here on Bonnevillclub.com.
I guess most people looking for the SC opted for the fully loaded SSEi. I guess if you are in the market for a new SC car you can afford to go with the top of the line. This means that there aren't many out there. I have also looked at Autotrader.com and ebay for any non-SSEi SC Bonnevilles--to no avail.
