I am getting my car on march 30. I'd like to get the rear ELC working on my park Avenue. First thing i'll do is replace the rear struts, and I think i'll go with the reflex. So far, i've heard people say it is well worth it. Your opinions? What are the part numbers for front reflexes, and the rear? And they come with the air hook-up, right? Just want to get them ordered soon.

I think i'll take the compressor apart, clean it, and reoil it. Is this something easy to do? Where can I get instructions for getting it to work? What kind of oil to use?

I'll try to get a RPO code tommorrow so I can give you guys a better idea what my suspension is.

Oh, its for my 1993 Park Avenue. Car'* fully loaded, except for the sunroof, and SC 3800. Sweet car.

Good luck finding the Reflex struts. They were discontinued, though I believe some people have found them at some places (at least the rears). The Reflexes react 100 times faster than the Sensatracs, which is the next step down (and still an improvement over OEM). So if you can find them it is well worth it. Just make sure they are in fact Reflexes and not mislabeled Sensatracs.

With your miles, I'd replace the struts too if they are original, though they may not be the cause of your ELC not working, unless you tested the compressor already.

I too put on sensatraks about 90K mi ago. They're still doing great. But it turned a freeway cruiser into a car much better following the road on wavey country roads in Indiana. It firmed up the ride on highways from the original standard suspension with auto-leveling on the rear to a pleasing firm ride. That has softened a little after lots of miles.

I have driven used Park Aves as loaners from dealer during service and they seem to have had replacement struts in a couple. Since the dealer probably did the struts to use them as service loaners I assume they were GM'* replacements. The dealership often keeps cars taken as trades with miles over 70K or higher they don't sell quickly on their used car lot and use them as loaners instead of wholesaling them.

The problem i have with the sensatracs is I put them on my LeSabre, and even though it did improve the car a bit, it is still too bouncy.

Any other brand of struts with the air hook-up?

Ahh, shoot, its the FE1 suspension. I think it had a thicker rear sway bar.

Well, ok, if the sensatracs are worth it, I might get a set. But are there better versions of the sensatracs spefifically for a FE2, 3 or F41 specs? I'd think they're the same no matter what year or car?

They are the same. But some just have the air assist, and some don't. But the springs would have more to do with the differing ride on an F41 car vs. an FE1 car than the struts. The Sensatracs are better than what you had on your car when it rolled out of the factory, no matter what suspension you had, so they are definitely worth it.
