Plastic or Aluminum
Alright, the Bonneville is ripped to pieces because I'm replacing the UIM and LIM gaskets and the such along with a bunch of other goodies. I went to the GM dealer and they brought out two sets of LIM gaskets.
Aluminum and Plastic.
I had plastic originally and I would definitely go with the aluminum if I can.
The GM guys had no idea the difference besides being metal and plastic.
Im going to bring mine over tomorrow and figure out which matches.
Any Clues from anyone if I can use either or, or?
Did they replace the gaskets with aluminum in 98?
Thanks for all of the help!

Several here have used the aluminum gaskets, and they seem to fit all Series II 3800s.
I just ordered a set. Given the PITA they are to replace, a few extra bucks is money well spent.

My local dealer doesn't stock the plastic anymore. GM is superceding the plastic with aluminum.
The plastic is old stock...take the aluminum only.

I went and looked at the two gaskets again today.
The metal ones have a different rubber gasket design( the two on the ends)
as the plastic ones have identical ones to mine...
I just dont want to buy the metal ones and have them just to look at..
anyone know where Im coming from and any suggestions?
I definitely want to go metal!
Alrighty, I did more searching around this awesome site and I came across the goods i needed...
The aluminum with pins CAN work on mine, just wondering who has done this and if any problems resulted. THANKS SO MUCH.

I've done two of them, others have done them...
