Sounds like you may have a problem with the brake line.

You would have to remove it and inspect it. Do you have ABS? Just sounds like something is stuck no letting the caliper relax.

Take the brake caliper off & see if you can compress the piston back into the caliper with a c-clamp. If the hose is collapsed, it is pretty tough to squeeze it back in there.

Thumbs up Bad brake line?

I had a similar problem, and the brake line replacement fixed it up right. I don't know how to tell that it is a problem, but if your vehicle hasn't had the flexible brake lines replaced in several years, it is probably worth doing as a matter of 'preventinve maintenance' anyway. The parts are not difficult to replace nor are they expensive. My '94 Bonneville how has the best brakes in my entire fleet. I guess I have to get to work on my other vehicles now!

The brake line in question is the rubber hose inside the wheel well. This is a common issue with older brake lines. What happens is the rubber seperates internally and acts like a one way valve. Fluid fills the caliper and can not return properly.

When you replace the hose, please do both sides as they will be pretty close in condition to one another. Typical cost on the hoses is under ~$15 a side.
