OK

Your driving on the highway, doing 70mph or so (1,000,000,000kkm =)

Your foot is slightly touching the accelerator, you depress it a little more to accelerate.

The car starts "surging", pulsating, hesitating, missing...?

The tach is around 2k, but as the car is slowly going faster, the needle "bobs", lets say goes up 200rpm, goes down 100, goes up 200, goes down 100.

I put my Bonnie in 3rd, with and without Traction Control. Continues to do it, at higher RPMs, say 3k.

It does it occasionally, mostly on humid days. other then a shaking around 70mph always, IT DRIVES FINE!

Where do I start??? Tranny (torque converter), wires/plugs/coils, TPS? MAF sensor?

What are some steps I can take to track it down...

Thanks for any help!

BTW, again my Car is a 97 sse, 68k miles... just got it from a dealer.

I've got some reasurement for ya. My 94 SSE has been doing a very similar hesitation at 60-65mph for some time. At first I was going nuts and asking question, but what a lot of people told me is that the throttle position sensor may have a dead zone. Which is no big deal, won't hurt anything (at least thats what i've been told). However, I did install MSD wires a month ago and it greatly minimized it. So it'* probably more to do with the ignition in my car. Sadly I'm out of money to worry about it right now, but it hasn't gotten worse so I'm not freaking out.

Hope this helps relax you, in a way :?

Don't worry about the traction being on or off. It'* only active at 25 or under, anyway. I'd lean towards the Tranny, but the TPS isn't a bad place to look, either. I had one go out on my 94 Suburban, it was surging at idle, but nowhere else in the range. TPS'* are cheap and easy to swap.

Sound more like a plug, wire or coil problem just tune it up.
