So 1800 miles in 2 weeks and.........

I gotta say, I'm extremely pleased. I'm getting an average of 26 mpg, (actually had a little over 28 mpg on this last tank), and it has run perfectly. It doesn't consume any fluids and as it turns out, doesn't leak either. When I bought it, I thought it did, but apparently someone spilled a whole bunch of oil on it before.....hmmm.

Anyhow, most importantly, when I get out of hte car at the end of the day, I'm not road wearrie...

Initial price, and then parts and elbow grease, I have almost $4,000 in it right now, which isn't too bad IMO. I think I would be hard pressed to improve on a car that has what this Bonnie has to offer for the same price.

26 mpg ...well done :) .. i will never ever see those numbers..untill new car time in a long long time. Have fun with all that gas! haha.

LMAO!!
26 mpg is awesome!

dont these cars get better milage than that on the highway, i can take mine from my home here in springfield to nashville tennessee with a full tank of gas, give or take a few miles

Nice work. Gotta love the efficiency of the Series II

gruveb 01-30-2004 05:10 PM

Well I drive a grand total of about 8 miles a day that's not on the highway. So the rest of the 180 mile a day trips are all on the free, no stop and go or anything like that.

It's weird, in the mornings, I get all of hte way to Tucson before the thermostat even opens up. Quite strange indeed.

Alot better than I was getting, did 1500 miles in 4 days around christmas,I was lucky to get 23MPG, its was pretty cold though too.

gruveb 01-30-2004 07:56 PM

It's been cold here too lately. We've even had frost and other than today, it hasn't broken 70 in a week!

BonneAlien 01-31-2004 12:45 AM

i don't know if i could even break 20mpg if i tried.. maybe like 300 straight highway miles.. haha

gruveb 01-31-2004 12:49 AM

Really, 20? I mean, our IROC Z with an L98 gets 22 to 25 mpg on a regular basis......but of course that's with my wife driving it on the freeway and not me driving it. :D
