Default AC compressor

I need to replace the AC compressor in my 92. Would it be worth it for me to buy a new one or should I pull one out of a junkyard? As for that matter how difficult is it to convert it to the newer system?

Unless you're willing to mess with the ozone layer, I'd have a shop do it. If it'* just the clutch that failed, do that yourself, but don't go junkyard. AC clutches don't hold up well to the elements when they're just sitting there.

Converting to R134 from R12 needs to be done by a licensed shop.
You CAN do it yourself, but alot needs to be done. It'* really not worth attempting.
