Side-Affect of Hood Protector/ Car Bra
Last week i purchased a hood protector and i left it on for around 2 days. I took it off and my paint was like warped. It's not extremely noticeable, but if u look at the right angle its horrible. Its like a lighter color in a blob. Do you people know what i'm talking about, and do u know a way to get it to go away!!!???

I wish I knew how to trace a converasation about a subject and go to the previous topic like this one but I mentioned this to Tamara I think about the topic and I said that they look good but don't do it because it will mess up your paint. By the bra covering the smaller part of the hood the rest is being exposed or a tan shall I say and the car will have a different shade plus the pressure on the bra will strech on the body and peel the paint

I have exactly the same hood protector, and haven't seen anything like this. With my dark green paint, it should be obvious. You may be getting a reaction to the type of wax or something.....I used a heavy past wax, 4 coats, before putting mine on. Try to lightly buff it out with polishing compound, then re-wax it. Mine's been on since May, by the way

Just be sure you wax the area that will be covered by any protector. And don't leave it on too long during bad wheather.

Already left it on in the rain..but you guys think some wax might fix the problem on the hood?..that'd be great.

Mine has been fine, so far. I wonder if there could have been some chemicals on the bra padding that was left over from production and it hadn't been cleaned off yet??? Maybe just washing your bra will help out. Just a thought...

Ask Tamara....she knows how

Personally I would put on a plastic film you can buy first. yes it is expensive but then you know your paint is protected.
Actually I figure just taping off the car and spraying on a bra would be easy you know just a little undercoat paint and your set. LOL Ty |
I think the instuctions say buff b4 you put em on . It might be moisture. I personally hate them cause highway dirt will get in there and scrath the paint ! And you got to take it off every time you wash the car!!!

Get some Liquid Glass. If you've never heard of it, it's the wax used car dealers use to simulate clear coats. It's probably the toughest crap out there. 3 or 4 coats, and don't ever worry about scratches or dirt under the bra. The saddleman hood protector dries very rapidly under normal driving conditions. I'm considering leaving mine on for the winter, because of the added protection against gravel and rock chips. I'll just make sure I clean and wax under it 2 or 3 times during the winter.
