shimmy and shake

I searched all previous posts and could not find my exact problem. this morining on my way to work my antil lock brake light popped on, i figured because of heavy rain and snow I might have a bad connection with my WSS. Thought nothing of it until the front end started to shake like if I had old bias tires and they were out of round!!! well i slowed down by letting off the throttle . gas it gas.. blamo shimmy went away let off throttle no shimmy.. drove 20 miles or so.. blamo shimmy again felt like the lug nuts came loose (don't ask how I know what that feels like  ) sny I deas? I don't think its a CV joint but how knows.

snow

Is it possible you have snow in the rims causing them to go off balance?

That would be the logical guess. Snow/ice buildup.

just to let you guys know it did it again on the way home form work.. sun was out and it was in the mid 40's no ice that i could see. but i got sick and haven't pulled it apart to check. if I find something other than ice and snow I will post back but I just wanted to make sure it wasn't something critical because i commute 120 miles round trip a day.. thanks for your imput

Cover the basics first. Check to make sure you have ALL of your lug nuts fastened on each wheel. Check your tire pressure. If those two things check out, it's posible you might have a bad tire (slipped belt) or you need the tires balanced. How many miles on these tires? Try rotating the tires to the back to see shimmy goes away. Have you had the front end alignment checked in awhile? It could also be a bad rotor, but that's my absolute last guess.
