The title pretty much says it all. I'd like to remove my front door panels so I can put some highpass crossovers on the front speakers. Also, I might knock out the card holders and install a pair of tweeters; the hole is just the right size.

Yep, door card holders are perfect for tweeters. The techinfo when I used it made me search for a bolt that was not on either of my doors, but eventually they came off. THe only tricky one is the one behind the plastic light in the doors. The clips are a pain to get off as well, I had to use super glue on some to repair them

Cool, I'll try that tomorrow. BTW, the link to the Subwoofer Installation is dead.

Well, I tried it. I think someone mentioned that there were different door panels for 1992-5 and 1996-9. The guide was written for 1995 (SSEi) and mine'* a 1997 (SE). The instructions didn't match up at all.

I tried to wing it, but to no avail. (Though the mad scientist in me was intrigued...)

These are the steps I followed, the best I can remember:
  1. Let'* start with the easy parts. Remove the speaker grille, the card holder or tweeter grille, and pry off the panel behind the door handle.
  2. Remove the Torx (#15) screw from behind the door handle. Slide the larger panel outward to remove it. The door lock will prevent it from coming all the way off, so it'll just hang around..
  3. Pry off the white light with a flathead screwdriver. Pull the plug and toss it aside. It isn't wired very safely, so take care not to shock yourself. Behind that is a 10mm bolt. Remove that.
  4. Pry off the panel at the top of the armrest. Disconnect the light and set it aside. (Note that the power mirror controls can't be removed, so this'll just hang in that case.) Remove the 10mm bolt that'* behind it.
  5. Pull the black pins out of the black pegs holding the fixed handle. If you can't pull them out, then just break them off. I accidentally broke mine off and if you tighten the bolt all the way, you won't even notice.
  6. Use a flathead screwdriver to pry off your window controls.
  7. Realize you have no idea what to do next and reverse these directions to reassemble your door.
