Default Torq Converter?

Cannot start out in drive, if I shift into L1 I can get her going - get up to speed and then shift into drive then into OD and everything is great, Until I stop. Its kinda like drivin a manual stick shift. Torq Converter? Electrical?

Any ideas?

Change it. You've lost your viscosity and lubricity, and you're coating everything with a good cooked-up layer of laquer.
