Is there a difference in suspension setup on a 94 SE vs, SSE
I want to know if the SSE got stiffer struts, bigger stabilizer bars, higher rate springs etc compared to the run of the mill SE.
What other difference are there other than asthetics like grills, body cladding, leather etc.

there are different part numbers for FE1 what the SE has and the FE2 what the some SSE'* and SSEi'* have.....the FE2 suspension have different struts than a SE when they rolled out of the assmebly plant, and the parts will crossover to your SE

Some SSE'* were also built with the softer FE1. You have to look at the RPO label to know what it has.
If you're wanting to swap from an SSE to an SE, you will have to decide what to do with the ELC or CCR, if equipped.
As a rule, using used struts is not a good idea. It'* much the same as using used tires or used brake rotors/pads. It'* a part that wears over time, and a used strut will have a limited lifetime remaining.

Look at the RPO label on the top of the spare tire cover...
My money says at current you have the FE1 suspension...

Guys I have a SSE im not looking to put SSE suspension on a SE. That being said I have 2 buttons my the shifter that says performance ride or touring ride if this makes a difference. I was just wondering if the SSE got special suspensiion or if Pontiac just took SE suspension and put it on the SSE.
I like to know small details about cars, that is why I was asking.

if i was a betting man i would guess that you have the FE2 because of the CCR.....

The two buttons are referred to as CCR Computer Command Ride or something like that.
As long as both lights aren't lit..you are ok. What happens is if you look under your hood..you have electrical connectors going to your struts..(very few have them). In perf mode..it will firm them up and in touring it makes them ride like a granny car.

I'll agree on that and say FE2... And that Computer Command Ride... Does it still work?
From what we have heard and learned, a good set of Performance struts like a Monroe Reflex have made people happier than the CCR struts...
I guess its all in what you want..
But yes the springs and sways should swap right over to an SE

BTW..being a CCR owner myself currently and previously having another SSEi w/o CCR I can say....
Without a doubt the regular struts perform better than the CCR struts in performance mode. Caviat: Car w/o CCR had replacement struts when I bought it at 148K and my current has 144K on the CCR struts.
Brand new versus brand new, performance mode is probably equal or close to equal.
New CCR struts are expensive in comparision to regular struts
