Default '98 Engine Interchange?

Hey, all,

As a followup to my leaking intake issue on my '98 (you'll all have your own stories, if you haven't yet :( ), my original non-SC motor is toast/junk/not even worth rebuilding. Upon opening it up, it needs virtually everything! Rod bearings #5 and #6 both spun. Scored cylinders, cam, crank, pistons, etc.

ANYHOW....I have found a local '99 motor with 15K on it that I was going to buy and drop in. I assumed the '98 and '99 motors would be identical, but the yard interchange manual shows '95-'98 only would work, but nobody knows what the difference is with the '99. Anyone know? I'd really like to get this, drop it in, and have my car again!

Thanks,
Mike Evans

97-99 Should have identical motors, trannies, wiring harness, and PCM.
