Default Gauges pegging on startup

Hello,

I recall that upon startup for the Corvette, the gauges are supposed to swing all the way and back before settling in on their readings, as well as some years/trims of Bonnevilles. I'm wondering what years and trim level Bonnevilles had this feature? Pointless, but damn cool.

None of my gauges swing when I start the car, however from time to time the oil pressure gauge (and only that gauge alone) will peg but most of the time it doesn't. What system controls this, and assuming my car was equipped with this "feature," what would it take to get it fixed (or maybe it means I need a new oil pump!)?

Thanks a bunch!

Stoopid

I have a '95 SSEi, although a different trim line, mine does do the full swing. Have you had any electrical issues with your car? Bad gauge readings or shorts?

I too love the look of the pegging gauges. I still remember when they used that as a logo for their TV commercials. Thought it was cool as hell. :pimp:

Mine all peg to full, then back to nothing, then move to their correct spot.

Dang, you SSEi boys get all the goodies. I'm jealous. All my gauges work fine...I guess I'll just have deal with a boring startup every time I turn the key.

btw, 96AZSSEi, that'* a beautiful machine you have. Mine is red just like yours, but of course the front end and the rear and are not nearly as pretty, not to mention you got some goods under the hood (namely, the blower) that I would just die to have. :P

Thanks...do I call you Stoopid...or Savant? Have you posted pics of your Red Bonnie? We all here know that Red'* are the best and fastest! Might as well start the color war in another topic!
