Default Scantool purchase help

I'm checking out some different scantools, but I have no way of knowing how much information each one can give me. I would like something that can show me all my engine data (escecially KR), as well as transmission info like temperature and slip. Can you guys point me in a good direction?

So far I've liked the looks of the Snap-On MT2500 (kinda pricey), but also the AutoXray 4000 and Actron 9145. Not sure which one will do the best job!

If you want to record data (hard to watch on the fly), discount the Actron 9145. Unlike it'* predecessor that many of us have, it doesn't record.

Anybody have info regarding other scantools? Do most of the OBDII compatible scanners monitor KR and transmission parameters? I have experience with Digimoto scanning software, and their past updates have NOT included KR or transmission info, so I'm a bit leary of purchasing something without knowing a little bit about it. Any other help that can be offered would be greatly appreciated.

I've got an AutoXray - 5 or 6000 series, don't remember off the top of my head. It does KR, but I don't know about the tranny stuff.

It does record as well. But, you need some add on software to put it onto your computer, which I haven't sprung for yet.

I don't have (or know how) to get my digimoto to show KR. It shows timing.

The only reason PDad would have KR capabilities is from his AeroForce Scan Gauge. Otherwise, as far as I know, Digimoto does not show KR.

Travis, do you have the latest update installed? If not, download it and let me know if it shows KR or not . If it does, I'm good to go. If it doesn't, I need to buy a scantool today and have it shipped ASAP!

Thanks for the update. Guess I'm off to Ebay for a shopping spree!

Would you guys recommend the Palm LS1M package? I'm giving it some serious consideration right now. It'* more expensive, but will it give me more parameters than an AutoXray or other scantool?
