Whats this hose for?
I was poking around under the hood and was making sure things were hooked up and connected tight. When I got to the Blower Motor on the firewall, I noticed this was unhooked. It goes into the blower motor then into what the blower motor is attached to. (Heater Core?)
There was a plastic like piece that was broken evenly inside of the hose which was very brittle. I just need to know what this is and if it plays an important role or not.

Thanks for the info.
My next question is if the piece it goes to is broken, I will have to replace the whole thing right?
Someone please move this to 92-99? I realize now it should have been posted there to begin with since this is more than likely going to turn into a replacement.

As William said, that rubber tube supplies cooling air from the air intake chamber to the blower motor. If your car is like my '95, you have a hard rubber insulating cover over the blower motor - these are available from the dealer for about $10. I had to replace mine. The entire heater/AC box on the engine side of the car is also covered with this hard rubber stuff. When I had my engine out, I replaced my broken cover with a good one from a junkyard. As I recall, it wasn't all that easy to change even with the engine out! The motor cover is easy to change. If that is the end that is crumbling, just install a new cover and plug it back in. If the other end (on the chamber) has crumbled away, you might try to use something like silicone RTV to patch it back up enough to re-install the tube. I'll try to get you a pic.

Well looks like I might have to replace that sometime. Mine broke off and theres no plastic to put it back on. WIll it hurt it any running it without it for now until the replacement is done? (probably like months away)?
