SC Belt

Well to my surprise i happen to open my hood this morning to take a look at my motor to check things out and i noticed my SC belt was gone. I didn't notice any issue with performance or mileage and no lights are on on the dash... I do have a new belt to put on but im just kinda baffled. :nm Im thinking ive been driving like this for about a week or so....

I don't think you would ever get a check engine light on when missing the super belt. Other people have removed it for testing purposes with no ill effect. The PCM automatically adjusts for the "missing" air flow. Heck, you probably even noticed a little bit better fuel mileage.

My idler pulley on my 98 SSEi siezed up and broke the belt a while back . I was curious to see what would happen if I drove it without the belt. I drove it for over a week and found no ill affects. I was really suprised to find that I had about 90% of the power I get with my non-supercharged car. That pulley was aggravating to replace.

Well as i noticed today my idler pulley is bad. Its wobbling all over.

It's been a few months since I replaced it. I think I put a floor jack under the engine to support it and removed the front engine mount to gain access to the pulley.
