running 3800 w/o cowling
I have a non-SC'd 3800 series II....I've been wanting to leave the engine cowling off because it seems like it would run a bit cooler..not that I'm having overheating problems..but with the engine being high milage I would think it may be good for it.....is this a bad idea?heat transference?

Many people have removed the engine cover. I have mine off and after taking if off, it looks like a blanket to keep heat in the engine. You are safe running without the plastic engine cover that says 3800 Series II

A 1993 doesn't have the big Series 2 cover.
You can mesh it and keep the looks, but if you want, go ahead and remove it. |
Mine is off!!!!!!!!
I think the motor looks better w/o it!!!!!!!!! |

He may think he does, but unless he did a swap, he has the Series 1 L27 in his 1993 SE.
Alot of people are mistaken about what motor is in their car, considering the sheer numbers of Series 2's produced since 1995. |
haha...oops..I dunno how I managed that...I have a '97 bonnie...must've been thinking of my last car...*slaps forehead*
