I just got most of it apart and it looks like the interrupter is still intact. Who knows if its working or not. Here is a pic of what it should look like, but a little dirty:

Here is a pic of the sensor hole with the interrupter lined up so you can see it (my car):

Does it look still intact? I might as well replace it seeing as how it'* already apart. But if it was broken/missing then I would know I was replacing this for a good reason.

By the way, I'm replacing this due to a code 41. I've already replaced the cam sensor and am now onto the interrupter.

Hi,

The correct way to do this job is to remove the timing cover and cam gear and install the new interrupter from the back side of the cam gear.

I have read a link (from here I think) where a guy figured out a way to do it through the hole without removing the timing cover with JB weld and some new part grinding, but I don't know...seems like the correct method will allow you to find and remove any broken pieces of the interrupter magnet ***'y before they can cause damage, and removing the cover gives you a chance to replace the chain and gears if need be and also to replace the front crank seal.
