When the RPM gauge goes down and then up, does the engine noice change and do you loose or gain acceleration?

Also, please add your year and trim of your vehicle to your signature line. That way when you start asking questions in other areas of the forum, we all have a better idea on how to assist you. Click on "Quick Links" above, go down to "User Control Panel" and then click on "Edit your Signature" It's pretty straight forward from there.

i have a 93 bonneviile and when im driving it sometimes seems like the rpm hand is high but while hiting the gas its fine but when i stop the rpm hand drop under 1 and it actually cuts off sometimes but starts right back up but it does that only and drive when its and park it runs ok

If the gauge is jumping around I would check grounds. Sounds like bad a connection.
