1995 Bonneville SE ABS light is on
Well, the light has been on for over 2 years, and I have no ABS function.
I'm hoping that it'* not the $500 module, so can anyone give me some suggestions on how to diagnose without spending a small fortune?
Thanks!

you need to get the light scanned, the problem is that ONLY the dealer can pull the codes.....so you will need to do that before we can diagnoise further....
what we can tell you is to inspect and clean the Wheel Speed Sensors at each of the wheels

Not true...some mechanic with the right equipment can scan ABS codes as well, mine threw an ABS scan in at no extra charge when I got new tires the other day.
Dealers will also charge a pretty penny for doing an ABS scan as well, I was quoted 50 bucks from mine, and Ive heard others say 100.

So, how do they do that anyway? Disconnect the wiring harness from the ABS module? Or do we have a hidden port somewhere?

I've seen it done twice personally.
The most likely culprit is the very expensive PMV assembly below your airbox, and I've never seen an EBCM module fail in my 4 years on this Forum. Second most likely is a wheel speed sensor, which requires replacement of the hub/bearing assembly.
I currently have no traction or ABS on the SSEi, as my PMV is bad, as well as 2 WSS. I replaced the PMV with one from the wrecker, and it had a different fault. That'* why I've seen the scan done twice before.
I got my money back, and quite frankly don't miss either feature. I drive the SLE in the winter now. Traction is out on it (WSS), but ABS still works. Go figure.

ABS light
I think Willwren is on to something. When the ABS light started to flash, it was happening the same time that the Traction Control light was going. I was getting a grunting electrical noise around the same time.
I hate to ask, but how much is a PMV assembly........time for a second mortgage?
Can you tell me what PMV is short for?
Thanks

The PMV is the Pressure Modulator Valve. Like I mentioned, it'* right below your airbox. It has a good bunch of brake lines coming and going (6 total?), and a small reservior on it if you have traction control on the car from the factory.
New, they're about $700. From the wrecker they'll probably be $150 or so, and many GM cars used the same unit. Your wrecker will know the cross-model compatibility.
However, since both systems seemed to fail at the same time, I'd suspect a wheel speed sensor.
Get the car up in the air, and check the connections to all 4 hubs. You'll see the connectors. disconnect each one, clean them up, and apply dielectric grease before reconnecting.
You might also want to pressure wash the back of the hubs if you have one available.
You might get off easy on this one.
A faulty WSS might be detected with an ANALOG voltmeter set for resistance, so you can see the 'pulses' on the needle as the tires rotate. You'll need a helper for this.
