Hey everyone... been a while since I have posted but I am back and more frustrated with my car than ever! We are having a host of problems that I think are computer related but want to get some opinions. Here is a rundown of the symptoms...

-Low coolant light keeps coming on but when checking the coolant, everything is fine.

-Intermittent no start that has been happening for the last 18 months that we have owned the car.

-There have been 2 times where I have been rolling down the road and the car just stalls while moving. After stalling it will not start again for 15-20 minutes. I was doing at least 60 mph both times and it scared the crap outta me! Right before dying the speedometer and rpm gauges topped out and then went back to 0 again. Then the famous ding ding ding.

-Sometimes the cruise control just stops working. It will work fine for a while and then, bam, nothing.

We replaced the icm in december only to find out that wasnt the problem... anyone have any idea where to start? Could it be a faulty pcm or crank sensor?

Disconnect your coolant level sensor in the radiator. It'* the only electrical connection you'll find on the engine side of the radiator. The light will never bug you again.

For the stalling/no start, the best place to look is the battery cables. Pull both boots off the cable ends. You'll find a significant amount of corrosion that can only be seen if you pull the boots. Clean it the best you can, the put it back together with dielectric grease (you can get this at Autozone right around the corner). If the corrosion is too bad, consider replacing the battery cables. Your symptoms point directly at this. We get a good dozen cars a month with these symptoms and this fix. It'* also good to hit the charge terminal on the back of the alternator, the power feed to the starter, and the grounds under the ICM (each end of each red and black cable) at the same time.

I recall you had a water problem in the car? If so, you need to do this.

The ground bus problem may be affecting your cruise control. If not, it could be a slight vacuum leak. We'll cover that if the corrosion issues don't solve your problem.

i would think faulty pcm. but could be lots of other things as well. a pcm in the junk yard should be no more then $25-30. but if you dont want to do that then try checking and cleaning all ground wires and ground buss. and as far as the low coolant light coming on and the coolant level being fine then that to me means 1 of 2 things.
first is you might have a bad cooling sensor along with corroded wires.
or second is your pcm is going bad and causing all these things to malfunction.

some more advanced members will jump in and help you out as well.. but thats it for now its a start

Low coolant is probably crud built up on the sensor. You would need to remove it to tell/clean. Disconnecting it is a possibility, why disable a sensor that is there to help you in case of a coolant leak? I may temporarily disable and then fix when the chance occurs.

I agree about the cables...check them and if possible scan the car...any codes or codes in history?

I see nothing here to indicate a potential PCM issue. Let'* hit the basics first.

He'll need me to pull the codes. I've got the closest 94/95 capable scantool.
