Default HOLY CRAP! NOW WHAT

Hi guys haven't had to post a problem for some time now, but i don't know about this one. Here goes, i was driving back to work today and i noticed the gauges would move around whenever i put my foot on the gas. After driving for a few more minutes i also notice when i mover the steering wheels they would move around. came to a stop light and when the light changed i hit the gas and the car didn't move the engine was acting normal but no forward motion. so i put the car in park waived the pissed off motorist around me and the car died. No all it will do it click when i turn the key. now for the list of new items less than six months old. alternator, starter idler pulley, a/c compressor, belts, in case you were wondering the power steering went out but that was about 9 months ago. so as you can see i have replaced nearly everything under the hood. I also cleaned and service the battery cable less than a month ago, oh forgot to mention that i also replaced all 3 coil packs so any ideas would be of help

thanks

No problem. Disconnect both battery cables and PULL THE BOOTS OFF. Clean all that corrosion hidden in there, and put it back together with dielectric grease. Do the same to the ground locations at the other end of the negative battery cable under the ICM bracket. For good measure, hit the 12V positive at the alternator and the starter.

While you're doing all this, have your battery on the charger. You have classic symptoms.

At times, we get about a dozen cases of cable corrosion a month. This procedure fixes 9/10 of the cases with his symptoms. This is ASSUMING the battery and alternator are in good working condition.

If those cable ends are really nasty, and the corrosion has wicked down the cable, replacing the battery cables is needed. Mine were so bad that no amount of cleaning the connectors was able to help.

well thanks for the advice i knew it was not the battery cables, like i said i had went through and cleaned them all only a month ago. However it did turn out to be the 10gauge charging cable from the back of the alternator, the cable inside the plastic connector attached to the loop and charging post on the back had completely dissolved and fell off. suprised it didn't short and burn down the car. But boy it sure gave the car quite a bit of pep it had been missing latley with lack of electricity. thanks for the help everyone.

What you just said is corrosion that wicked into a cable and ate it away.

Your cables appear from your description to be bad. I would seriously recommend replacing them entirely so that the corrosion doesn't spread.
