Hello everyone, my problem is that I have a 93 Bonneville and it likes to flood whenever it rains. What happens is my rear passenger side floor takes on an inch of water or so whenever it rains. I have looked when it rains and cant see where this water is coming from. I asked the dealer and they said it may be a backed up drain plug. I think it might be a door seal or body panel leak, Has anyone here ever experienced this problem?

The Demi-God has posted something earlier about this ( try search ) and it has to do with something in the rear window seal ?? Put out the Rat light.. or unless Will remembers about it ( Providing he'* not drinking :? ) or a few others JR, SSEI95, Turtle... yadda yadda yadda... you get the point

Do you have an OEM sunroof? Gotta know this before we start off in the wrong direction!

I had the same problem when I first bought my 93 sse. What we found on my car was the door seals not sealing correctly. We took of the door seals and pinched teh inside lip tighter so it would stay to the form of the door instead of pulling away and POOF the leaking in the baxk passenger seat stopped. COULD BE SOMETHING different on yours but that is what it was on mine. I could actually put my fingers between the door and seal in some places, especially in the curve areas of the seal. Worth a look.

yes, i do have a power sunroof that is another problem, it has a mind of its own. When i shut the car off it starts to close and then stays half open. I have to fool around with it for a few minutes just to get it to close, and sometimes when I hit a bump it just starts going crazy and closing and opening for about five minutes. I have tried sealing my weather stripping but the glue didnt work, maybe i should just get new stripping or some better adhesive.

I MAY KNOW WHY YOUR CAR IS LEAKING!
I have a 94 SSE and there was a pool of water in my floor also. I found out in the winter because my ice pick was frozen to the floor. When it warmed up there was a ton of water there. After weeks of trying to find out what it was: I took my entire back seat out to find it was completeley SOAKED. There was a pool of water on the floor, and under the seat after I took it out. I tightened the plastic door seals on both sides of my car, recaulked it with GE Silicone I, used new screws, I even resealed my back window, but it kept leaking. Every time it rained the ceiling above the back passenger side door would get soaked and water would run down on the floor.
Finally, I carefully pulled back the ceiling material and found that the drain hoses from the sunroof were not connected!! Check this out on your car. It MAY be that the hoses that run from the drain of the sunroof and down the side of the car may have gotten disconnected somehow. Just be careful when you pull the ceiling back. It took me five minutes to reattach and caulk the hoses back together and it has never leaked a drop since. Hope you fix it. I know what a pain in the a** this was for me. Let us know what happens. well today I bought some ashesive for my weather stripping, I will try that tomorrow and see if that helps, Ill also check out my sunroof drain, thanks for all the help and ill keep you posted as to if i get it fixed or not.

This is exactly where I was going with my earlier question. These drains can get plugged, also, and water will just build up in the sunroof inside gutter area until it overflows. If this happens, you'll have water dripping out your sunroof switch. Your sunroof having a mind of it'* own could simply be the switch. Or moisture in the switch! The sunroof seal can be purchased from the dealer for about $70 US, or from www.gmpartsdirect.com for less than $45 US. I have the part number if you're interested. There is NO adhesive or sealant. It'* not necessary. There is also an article posted in Techinfo on this subject. I just did mine 2 months ago, and the joint became seperated in my seal.

I also had a leak in the back seat and found out it was the sunroof drain tubes were disconnected. The dealership was baffled as to why they would be in that state.

i have the same problem with my 90 sse
and i found that the drain tubes are actually worn out and rotting and leaking

but i dont have the time this winter to rip the entire car apart to fix it
so the roof is sealed for the winter with some silicone and in the spring it will be roof repair time
