Default broken Lug stud

Quick question...

I have a broken lug stud on the front right. I've replaced these before but not in a newer car. Are they still just pressed in? I was going to take a few hard wacks with a punch and a hand sledge.... thought I'd asked before I did? Is there a better way to get the old/broken one off?

Searched and found this post.... beat on it seems to be the solution.

tried that and the sucker won't budge. Letting it soak over night with some wd-40 on it... will try again tomorrow evening...

Get Liquid wrench on it, then let it soak over night.

Or PB Blaster. That stuff is the best. WD40 is the equiavlent of water next to it.

I like to use Aerokroil. Tough to find, but even better than PB Blaster.

After you let is soak in PB Blaster, try smacking it with a dead blow hammer, if you have one. It'* incredible what a little bit of sand will do in the hammer!

Ok this simple job is becoming a real pain. beating on the thing did not work at all... even after a night soak with PB. So I took of the Axel Nut and was expecting the hub to come right off.... guess again... Do I need a puller for this or should it be coming off? Hit it a few times with BFH?

A quick hint.
put the old lugnut on the stud and use that as a larger target. You can then use a mallet to take care of the rest easier. P.*. Don't reuse the old lugnuts, they may be stressed more than you think (and by that i mean before you start whacking at them).

That would work.... if there was anything of the stud left! hehe. no.. seriously there is only about 2 mm of stud sticking out... I took a closer look the inside of the hub and it is covered with teeth that then press onto the axel... I.E. needs to be pulled off... well, I give up... Its going to the dealer in the morning. I'll just stick to simpler things like brakes and starters.. God I miss my 76 nova where things actually came off. I just don't have the right tools anymore.
