Rod bolt torque specs?
 

I was wondering what the stock rod bolts are toqued to on my 92 SE, since I have to replace the timing chain anyways, i figured while i was down there I should replace the rod bearings since my engine has 207K miles. My Chilton book doesnt say anything about it and neither does the tech-info. Any help would be great.

well rod bearings go on top of the crank as well as the bottom so you wont be able to replace them with out pulling the crank

The rod bearings can be replaced, but I do not reccomend it...

If you really want to do this I'd reccomend that you pull the engine, and replace all of the bearings in the bottom end... If you installl new bearings on a surface with a minor amount of wear you could in effect wear your new bearings out faster than if you had left the old ones in there...

To do this right, you'd have to have the crank turned down .005 or .010 and get bearings .005 or .010 over.. If your car is doing good, and the oil pressure is good I'd be tempted to leave it alone... Good Luck

Ya good point i never really thought of the wear on the crank. I guess ill just leave it alone. Oil pressure is good anyways.
