replacing side view mirror

hello everyone, well i was backing the car out of the garage and i broke the thing off. It's not very damaged at all only the plastic around the threaded holes on the mirror broke off.

what i would like to know is what is the best solution to my problem, i tried glue, but that failed. Are there any other tircks that may help me fix this thing. Or should i just locate a new one? If so about how much does one normaly cost?

it's a 98 with manual mirros if that helps.

thanks for any advice.

I'd need a pic to see what you are talking about. I believe they are pretty reasonable on ebay. I've got a set of heated, power and tinted but they won't work for you w/o the proper wiring harness

it can be fixed, I did mine. Here's a tip. Put the two pieces in their spots and build up with some goop that gets hard. Maybe jbweld. I use something else thats hard to get. after it gets hard drill very small holes (2 or three) through the jbweld and into the plastic. then put small screws into those holes. you've basically created a washer aroung the bolts and screwed them to the mirror bracket.

tip, countersink the screw holes if your small screws dont have flat heads.
