I have a leak around the output shaft. I have been looking for an exploded view,but can't seem to find one and I do not have the cash to go buy a manual for the car.

I have bought a new output shaft seal,but now I have no clue how to install it.any help or pic'* would be great. Thanks

just a note: I have taken the wheel and axle off and seen where the leak is,I just don't know if the short shaft sticking out comes off.

Which end of the trans is it? Passenger or Driver?

Passenger I think would be pretty easy, comapred to the driver'* side....

I'm thinkint to remove that seal, that side pan is gonna have to come off, and i don't believe that can be done in the car......I know there'* a few guys here that can verify that for me.

You'll have to find a way to get at the old seal(removing the axle). The side pan actually has a hole cut in it for the axle to go through, and the seal is in the channel plate. You may be able to cut it out with a chisel(carefully as not to damage the surface it seats in or the channel plate), then tap the new one in. Think of it like a front engine cover seal. I'm saying this assuming that the structure of the 94 4T60 is the same, or at least extremely similar to the 97 4T60-E. I can snap a picture of the channel plate if you need me to. I can't tell you how much room you would have to work with to remove it though....

not sure if this will help. Did this from memory so I hope it is correct.

It'* accurate enough. You can pop that "thing" off if you massage it with a pry bar(or whatever is handy. It comes out though). Ben had to pull his and I think it fought a little. I'm sure he can give a better explanation.

This is what your after. Keep in mind, this stuff is off of a 97, but I can't imagine it being significantly different(correct me if I'm wrong)

You can judge if you have room enough in your engine bay to knock that seal out. I would think you can, but I don't know for certain.

identical, Thank god that part comes off. I thought I was going to have to take it to a shop and get raped on the price to fix it. ($1200) everyplace I looked.

note: on the 94 Bonn, there seems to be plenty of room to get that popped out.

New seal replaced. All in all it wasn't bad. My problem now is the top of the drivers side tire is to far out and I can hear the tire make a whinny noise as I drive down the road.

A few months back the sub-frame mounts (all 4 rear) broke. I replace those and the steering wheel was sitting way off center. My local mechanic said that was no big deal and the car did not need to be realigned.

After I put the new Output shaft seal in I adjusted the tie rods and she is driving straight as an arrow, but like I said now the tire is at an angle. How do I readjust that?
