Default Oxygen sensor 3 wire instead of 1???

I ordered an O2 sensor from GMPartsDirect.com. Before I did I have done some research and learned that the older models have single wire, and while browsing that site it took me to the single wire. I also looked in the engine compartment and saw what I thought looked like a single wire connection coming from the firewall to the middle of the engine. So I bought it, it arrived today, popped the hood, and I looked for where I thought I saw a single wire O2 sensor sticking out. But upon closer look and following Chilton'*, my car has 3 wire! Its where its just below the spark plug on the right side, correct? Well from the exhaust manifold protrudes 3 wires, purple, red, and black. So now im pissed off because my car is some kind of hybrid that has a heated sensor. Or am I an idiot and is it something else?

On that note, can I get the part number for the heated sensor so I get the correct one? Oh, and if anyone needs one you can now buy the single wire from me now. That is unless I made a mistake. DOH!

Look at your emissions label under the hood. You'll see either "O2S" or "HO2S". The H stands for heated.
