Default slight shutter

i have a 1998 bonnie se.

ever since i got it, it shutters driving down the interstate at high speeds. i thought it was a bad tire so this winter when i rotated the tires i thought maybe the shudder would go from the front right to the back. it helped slightly but its still there. now its doing this at low speeds only if the wheel is turned about 1/8th towards the right and it makes i subtle thumping sound.

any suggestions?

Up until you mentioned tires, I was going to say the transmission'* TCC. But now that you mention that part, it sounds like a CV joint.

i was driving down the interstate this morning think about and i im begining to move more and more in that direction. when i bought the car exactly one year ago today i checked the joints (ive had c.v. joints go out on me numerous times so i get kinda paranoid about them sometimes) but the boots looked very good, not torn or worn much at all so ive been kinda wanting to rule it out somewhat. i dad who is a mechanic and pretty much where i get all my tech knowledge from mentioned an inner ball and socket. im actually wanting to move towards a tie rod considering i had a cavelier a while back that did the same exact thing and the tire rod went out on it as soon as i gave it to my buddy.

any suggestions on how to check any of these things?

Jack up the car and check for any play. Could also be a bad wheel hub.

Could be a bad tire rod end or ball joint. Jack up the car and support it. Wiggle the tire and that can show a bad tie rod end. If you pry between the control arm and steering knuckle, you can see if the ball joint has any play.
