Default Fuel Injector question

Yep, it'* me again! I changed the spark plug wires all by myself (Is it just me or is it freaking hard to reach the back plugs?? Anyway, I'm still having the same trouble sooooooo..............

Can the fuel injectors be cleaned/serviced or do they have to be replaced once they are removed? If they can be serviced what does it involve? The manual says something about replacing O-rings....

Thanks!!

Ok, time to re-post your problem....there'* alot going on here. Maybe I'm just getting old, but tell us again what the problem is, and what you've done so far (and don't be bummed about the wires not fixing it....they needed to be changed anyway).

My car is 89 Bonneville SSE.

Since Monday, I haven't been able to drive it because when I start it it stumbles, tries to pick up and ends up stalling. Sometimes it will sputter for about a minute (with the revs going up and down like it'* really trying to keep running) but eventually it stalls. It does it when the car is still cold and once it'* warmed up as well. It does it in every gear as well. Check Engine light never comes on until the car actually stalls. The other gages all look normal.

There are no trouble codes coming up on computer.

Things I've tried so far:
Changed spark plugs and wires (two plugs aren't firing properly but are not for the same coil :? )
Unplugged MAF sensor - as suggested - didn't help.
Checked fuel pressure regulator.
Tapped catalytic convertor
Tried some gas treatment (was thinking maybe water in the gas because I let the tank get really low and we've had some extreme up and down temp changes here) Still wondering if that might be it........but would water really cause this much trouble??

Today, we are troubleshooting the coils and taking out the fuel injectors. manitu had said that they can be cleaned.....with B&O or something - is that cleaner for them once they are actually removed from the car?

Do you think my car is destined for the junkyard? I just don't know what else to do short of what'* been done and what is being done today.

Thanks.

you are really having a rough time of it.....but the good part is how well the car is going to run when you do get it going.
I doubt it'* ready for the boneyard.

I'm a long way from these guys as far as mechanical knowledge but I had a car once that had water in the gas and did those same "surges" and dieing till I got it all out.
It even took a long time to get the fuel lines cleared up.
I'd be sure that was done.......and Good Luck!!!

Yes Water in the gas can do that. I had a friend with an old Honda that was doing that. He had to use his left foot to brake and right to keep the gas going to the engine faster than idle speed. a mechanic told him to put somethin like 99%rubbing alcohol in to fix it. It did, takes the water out of the gas.

Have you tried kicking the tires ?

the injector cleaner is BG. { BG 44 even better}.http://www.bgprod.com/
It'* sold all over the place, most shops and garages.
Usualy not in auto parts stores.

Having them cleaned profesionaly can be alot cheaper than replacement.
these guys will do it for about $11 per injector. http://www.cleaninjectors.com/Orderinginfo.html

Still it may not be the problem .

My experience is that throwing parts at problems, can get very expensive.
personlaly I would try dyagnosis.
