Default oh crap, super high oil pressure!

Hey folks, I have a 1996 ssei that started showing super high oil pressure when I accelerate, even mildly. I took off the oil fill cap while it was running & it looks dry while it runs, replaced the oil pressure sensor & it the OP needle still pegs out when even partial throttle is applied. I am about to buy a new oil pan gasket & oil pick up tube & screen. Is there any chance the oil galleys are clogged up somehow? It runs very smooth with no strange noises but does have 226k miles.

You will need to get a oil pressure tester. Chances are the gauge is not reading right.

I had high oil pressure in my 92 SSE. Give it gas and the pressure goes sky high. It was the oil pressure sensor. I hope your issue is the same.
