Default Putting leather into the car???

How hard would it be to swap leather seats into my car? They are cloth now. I am talking leather front and back. Just the seats too, not neccesarily the entire material (unless thats easy too). I was just thinking of going to the junkyard and trying to find leather seats somewhere.

Default leather

i would assume all leather seats would be power. if you dont have power seats now it would be a larger job.

You may be able to do just the leather covering over the seats. I am not real familiar with the clith seats so I can't say for sure.

If you want to do the whole seat... If the power options are identical between the seats it should be an easy swap. It he power options are different you may need to either grab more than just the seats or have non-functioning seats.

I had some auto detailing shops tell me the samethings, that you can just get the covers.

I believe willwren was checking to see if the seat covers from 92-99 could be used on 87-91 seats. They look awful close.... Either that or junkyard.... I priced having custom leather done on my front and rear seats, and the doors as well... $5500 Cdn (tax inc). That'* pretty steep....

I think simply swapping the seats out shouldn't be too much of problem. Provided you swap the same type (ie power seats).

Don't all Bonnies have power seats? Or do you mean we could swap from a different car?

Most (if not all) Bonnevilles had the option of power seats, but there are also more than one power seat option. Some have a few power options while others have a ton of power options (like mine ).

my car has leather and i got new seats from the junkyard. Just unbolt the seat from the track and rebolt. there are 4 bolts to this. it takes a couple of hours. That way, you dont have to change any wiring. and if only one of your seats is power, then you do not have anything to worry about. Just make sure you get the ones with the manual lumbar supports. i didnt and my new seats are permanently upright. i just got lucky that the person whos car i got the seats from had the lumbar and everything set just right. It is a very short job if you do it this way. it took me about an hour and a half. just look for the bolts holding the seat to the track, not the track to the floor.

Or you can try Katzkin seat covers. Check PFYC.com to get a better idea. This way you could do color combos if you want.

...and the factory service manual includes a section with instructions on replacing the covers, too.

It'* a real bitch to get them off, and even worse to put them back. (the coverings that is). Don't try it in the winter when the leather is cold.
