Ive now owned my 93 Bonneville for about three years. My question is do you guys think its worth putting about 2k into to fix up or should I just buy a new vehicle. I need a new paint job, clear coat is flaky and one rust spot, need to fix my moonroof that still leaks and also need another set of rims. My car has 103K on it and the inside is all leather, just like new almost. Have not had any problems with the engine other than normal stuff. Do you guys think its worth it? Let me know what you think.

The price to fix that roof is less than 50 bucks. You can get the weatherstripping from www.gmpartsdirect.com for $43 if memory serves.

With only 103k (that'* pretty low for your drivetrain), I'd be tempted to repaint and keep the car. It'* entirely up to you. You have to decide how much you could get for the car if you sold or traded it, then add the 2k, and see what you could buy. With a reliable car already, it'* all going to boil down to just how much you really like the car. If you really like it, it'* worth more to you. That'* what counts.

hey man, my plans are to keep this thing goin! i love my car, and its so reliable... stick wit yer bonneville bro, u will more than likely be happy... u can do quite a bit to a car with 2000 bucks... dang, i can only imagine! well, bottom line is, u know whut yer car has been through and you know it can hold up, i would stick with it man... just my opinion

Your two drain pipes for the sunroof are likely clogged and need to be blown out. Open the sunroof, and you should see two holes at the front. Don't forget to scoop the crap out from the end of the drain pipes, inside the driver and passenger doors.

Keep it. It is a lot less expense than going out and buying a new one. And a used car is always a risk (I have always purchased used, but there is always a risk that you are buying someone elses problems). Like Dr. Suess said, you already know your car. Have the rust fixed and paint the car. It will look new again and since it has low mileage (some of these things have been known to go over 280,000 miles), if you take care of the maintenance, it will last you a long time.

What have you done to the car ?
I'll tell you what I did to mine, drilled and slotted disks, radio, speakers, rebuilt engine, fog lights , front bearings, dynomax muffler, New alternator, AC compresor, coils , plugs, wires, head light , tints, lot'* of time, detailed interior, very clean engone, clean injectors, added remote starter to factory alarm , radiator, intake, K&N , LED bulbs, pads all around , new remotes , new batt and I took apart the smog system and cleaned it with alcohol.
Do you think my car is worth 6,000.00 ?
That'* what I can get for it . It'* got a bad tranny , should I replace it or just get another car ?
Cars are a VERY expensive hobby . I did everything but the rebuild myself . If I were you , I would get a newer Bonny , the clear head lights are worth it alone , but what have you done to yours ?
If you haven't done alot , get rid of it , if you have , paint it and good luck.

At first I suspected the sunroof but I was so wrong...
I tried pluging up the drain holes on the sunroof but this just made it worse since those holes are there for a reason... water is supposed to get in to the spaces on the edge of the sunroof and then drain through the holes... so by pluging them in I made it worse... The problem I had was that water was coming in from the top of the windshield and also from the top of the rear glass. I was completely confused until I started to investigate a little. at first I tried to seal the top of the windshield from the outside with black sylicone and didn;t work. I then realized that the problem had nothing to do with the sunroof it was actually two things that were wrong. those holes on the sunroof are actually connected to two small rubber hoses that go all the way to the back of the car and drain the water to the outside. What I discovered after painfully pulling back the roof cover from the rear was that both of the hoses had disconnected from the metal tube that leads to the outside. this was simple enough all I did was reconnect them and the rear leaking stopped. but the leaking from the front was still there. some months later I decided to reinspect the windshield and discovered that the sealing that I had done with the sylicone allthough was the right thing to do wasn;t done correctly after pealing off the sylicone I discovered that I would need a more thorough sealing with the same sylicone. because the problem was that the windshield had become unstuck right in the middle about six inches... I cried out BINGO. and then went to my local autoshop and found an even better sylicone thant the first one this one is used for sealing the gasket on the engine and it comes in a presurised applicator for about $9 dollars. One good thing about it is that it says it has many uses including windshield application.. It made my job a lot easier because it oozes out so easily and uniformely.. I sealed up the windshield again, concentrating on the middle and after the 24H curing period I waited for the next rain.. To my relief there were no more leaks!!!!!!!!!!!
