Default hot footwells???

my footwells are freekin hot!!

i was driving today and it felt like the heater was on in the footwells.

does anyone know what this could be? about the only thing i could think of was i hit something and it damaged the firewall letting the warm air from the engine in. i had my oil changed 3 days ago but i didn't think that has anything to do with it, like the mechanic messing up or anything.

i'll take the bonne into the shop on tuesday but any help would be great.

Make sure your primary fan comes on when your car heats up....

I'm thinking more along the lines of a faulty catalytic converter, or a missing/broken heat sheild...

What type of car do you have, and does it have climate control. Sometimes on mine if i leave the climate control around 90, and drive.. it blows some hot air round my feet. Try turning your climate control way down to like 60, run the fan for about 10 secs.. till cold air comes out.. then drive. Probibly not the problem.. but hey.. worth a shot.

How periodicaly? If your car is *hot* and you turn your car off and leave the key turned on then you should still hear the primary fan running. :?
