Default Engine coolant LOOOW

Alright, I am almost bone-dry on this stuff! No good. Whats the best to replace it with and is there any process I should be aware of? Or just fill her up.

I believe your 97 should have come with Dexcool (the orange colored coolant), if so make sure you get the proper coolant and just mix half and half with water as directions say.

Do you have a leak possibly?

on the mix for topping it off and the leak idea. Could be the beginnings of the upper intake manifold failure.

Second Will'* suggestion. First, take off the engine cover and warm up the engine. Examine the throttle body to manifold gasket closely to see if coolant is dripping (mine was, an easy fix).

If not, it may be upper time before it hydrolocks. Use the search button here for several cheap fixes to upper intake manifold failure.

Not something to put off, I'd say. Get busy.

Oye, thats not what I wanted to hear! Well I'll do that tomorrow then. Any other signs I should look for on the Upper Intake Faliure?

"Any other signs I should look for on the Upper Intake Faliure?"

Pull the dipstick and see if the oil looks like chocolate milk.

If so, park it and fix it. If the throttle body gasket is leaking, fill it with coolant and change it soon.

You'll need a flashlight to check out the throttle body gasket. Be patient; watch a few minutes for a drip.

And if the oil is contaminated, drain it immediately.

Ive taken a few shots, don't know if these will be of any help but I tried.

The oil to me just looks like three month oil. I'm going to go get more coolant and then look for a leak but I'm not sure where to look for it.

The oil looks OK (but filthy! Change it more often!)

Sounds like the throttle body gasket to me. Check it out with a flashlight. Bet you'll find a leak.
