Mystery SES light
No, I haven't pulled the code yet, it'* raining like a **** and I was late... It came on during my drive to work, about 60 mph, cruise on. It kicked the cruise off, and the light went away after about 5 seconds. No odd gauge readings or sounds and I could turn the cruise back on immediatly. Lets hear some guesses...

Sorry John.. as a first guess I'd say IAT like Gumball has recently.
However since your car can pull the codes w/o a reader.. if you were in the car, I kind of expect codes. :?:

I was late for work, hence the no codes... But it did stop raining so I went outside. Vital halfway wins. It is the TPS voltage, but he didn't say high or low. It is indicated high.

The connection isn't loose. I reseated it and still duplicated the problem this morning. Cruise at 60, going enough downhill that the cruise just barely cracks the throttle to maintain speed, after 10 or 15 seconds it happens. I figure just a minor tweak of the TPS should cure it.

What was the code?
The cruise on that year car is typically having an issue, therefore I discounted it to begin with. Why would cruise cause an SES?

Code 21. I think it has to do with holding the throttle barely open for so long. The PCM doesn't like the TPS voltage at that point and lets me know after so long. And since the PCM uses the TPS to help the tranny decide what to do, it kicks off the cruise so it doesn't make any bad decisions.
