Default So my transmission slipped tonight...ideas?

So tonight I was trying to lane jam packed full on my right to get onto a highway, I hammered it trying to get into a spot and the eingine revved for about 1 second then caught back in gear. I've put about 20 miles on it since this happened and it hasnt happened again.

Fluid was last chagned at 40k miles, and I plan on changing it again at 80k. Any ideas why thsi would happen? I checked the fluid, the level was okay and the fluid was red.

thanks for any tips!

My trans did this every now and then the whole time I've had it. (from 03) It can't be good for it but I've had it happen for a while now.

I'm afraid to be hard on it.....I'm thinking about having my tranny rebuilt by the dealer I work at and have a shift kit installed. My 1-2 shift is getting kind of hard as well.

I can get labor for $30 an hour vs. $65 an hour for the regular customers.

I had the same problem only going like 30 to 39 mph. All I had to do was top off the fluid and over fill by half a quart...problem fixed.
I do know that our trannys have starvation problems around corners and over filling a half a quart fixes that.

hope your trannys ok.

Yeah through the dipstick...get your self a little funnel..makes it alot easier.

THis is a good time for you to put in a quart of Lucus transmission doctor. Makes the shifting smooth.

I would just overfill instead of adding lucas. All the stories I've heard about that stuff is either hit or miss.
