Question for JR's 3800 in FL. Upper intake MFG date

JR,

I have been reading the topics related to upper intake failure and I noticed your post with the 3 pictures showing the proper way to determing manufacture date of a plastic intake.

On the right hand side, mine has 0, 1, 2, 3 in the year circle with the arrow pointing to the 1. Also on the month circle it has the arrow pointing to the 10 and in the center of the circle it has a 9 on one side of the arrow and a 5 on the other side of the arrow.

I bought the car about a month ago and I am trying to determine if the upper has ever been changed. Car has 148,000 miles on it and it has orange dex-cool in it. Is there a chance it still has the original upper intake? I also notice a little bit of dark staining on the inside of the overflow coolant jug much like you would see after someone adds Barrs Leak to the radiator.

Coolant level and oil level both staying very constant. No internal or external leaks detected so far.

Thanks

Yours was replaced in 2001, And it sounds like the 10th day 9th month... My assumption is that the upper was replaced in late 2001 or early 2002... So your intake has a few years on it, but it was totally replaced... ;)

I appreciate the help, JR.

Is there an easy way to tell if I have a Delphi, Dorman, Rochester, other?

I wonder if anyone has ever installed a "low coolant" sensor in the side of the overflow jug? HHHHHMMMMMM....... I'll have to give that some thought.

Look on the belt end of the intake, it should have a little white sticker on it with a barcode, and above the bar code it should say Delphi if it was a GM replacement...
