Question about misfires
Other than checking your spark plugs is there another way to find out if your car has a misfire?

CEL (check engine light)

Agree - your light will flash a misfire code if you jump wire the connector, I believe.

What is your car doing or not doing?

its runn alright until I do my tune-up. I was just trying to narrow down my problems about why my converter went bad and so far I concluded that its the old o2 sensor. And Im finna get my exhaust done so I don't want the converter to go bad again.

I would think that your plugs will tell a story. Oil fouled, burnt white stuff, etc. Usually there is a color page in a repair book giving you the diagnosis of plug conditions. Kinda odd your cat went bad - to me at least.

OBD1 will NOT log misfires folks. That's 94 and newer.
|
If the car ran fine until you did the tune up, review all the items you did. Check all the connections and plugs. It is possible one is cracked and causing the problem.

willwren, I do believe ya got me.
|
for me my car would start to shake (not violently), usually when I would be sitting at a light, also your exhaust pipe will be making a put-put sound, my car was in need of new spark plugs badly
