Alright so I decided I want to convert my interior lights to LED bulbs. I went to the sylvania site to get the bulb sizes but came out with an issue. I want to change the bulbs on the door panels to LEDs but I don't know what size they are. I want to do the courtesy lights by the OSH'* *Oh **** handles*. And I want to do the front map lights. They list the map lights as 194'* but when I opened the housing, it doesn't look like a 194 bulb. I need to know what type of bulbs these all are if anyone has changed the bulbs before. I don't think the sylvania site is accurate. Maybe I'm wrong. lol. The bulbs by the OSH'* look like maybe a 3175 bulb? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot guys.

This is a write up for switching the interior of a 97 Bonneville to LED'*. I used the site "Superbright LED'*" so the part numbers will be used from this site.

I used all natural white LED'* because I think it looks sharp, and it lights up the interior very crisp and well. You can substitute with any color you want. The high powered version of the LED'* are pretty bright but not over whelming.

Be careful when working with light bulbs as they are glass and can be very hot. Wear a glove or use a rag when working with hot lights.

Starting under the dashboard by your feet:

These are 194 wedge bulbs. All that needs to be done is pulling the bulb out.


I used WLED -HP 194 piece (which is wide led high powered) . One for the driver side and one for the passenger side is needed.

The two Map lights:

Each map light holds one 44mm ridged wire festoon bulb.

To open the covers, a small flat screw driver will fit in the small notch in the cover to pop the cover down.

When opening the clamps that hold the bulb in, be careful not to deform them too much.


Next are the rear two map lights:

Each map holds one 32 mm festoon bulb. High Powered or regular can be used. I used regular, and they are plenty bright enough.

The covers are removed in the same way in which the front covers are removed.


Lastly are the indoor lights:

First, the housing needs to be popped out. To pop it out, a medium flat screwdriver need to be slipped down the straight side of the housing (outside edge of the door). Next, tilt the screw driver in to release the teeth. Then the housing can be slipped out. (This can get loud and ugly-looking).

The part used for these twist-in lights is the B8 series bulbs. The B8 series bulbs that fit are the B8.7D bulbs. Sadly, this configuration only comes in regular led but these are plenty bright.

Make sure the lights are working before everything is clipped back in.

After everything is set up, turn on your interior lights and enjoy the new appearance.

One side effect is the lights will flicker while dimming. This is minimal unless you are staring back at the bulbs.

I can't find the exact ones that will fit in the map light sockets. The 32MM and the 44MM ones. I want them to be really bright. I found the RL4410-xHP9: Rigid Loop Festoon bulb which is a 44 x 10.5 mm Festoon base. Will that fit? If so, I still can't find the 32 MM. I suck at this. haha

I ordered my front Map lights and my door lights.

I order 4410-x9

44 x 10mm festoon, 9 x 3mm LED for my front map lights and B8-7D for my door lights. I hope the front map lights are correct. :/. Also, I still can't find 32mm festoon lights for the rear map lights. Can you help me find them? I want them in red and cool white. 2 of each.
