Default 94 Bonneville leaking coolant at throttle body

I have a 94 Bonny Series I 3800 that is leaking where the throttle body connects to the plastic intake manifold. What is there that would cause the leak? Is it hopefully just a bad gasket, or could the manifold be failing. I know that the Series II manifolds almost always fail, but the Series I is a lot rarer to have fail.

Has anyone else had this problem with a Series I.

thanks

It is most likely a bad TB gasket, cost ya a few bucks and a few minutes to replace.

I agree, a seepage or leak there would usually indicate a bad TB gasket.

You will need to drain a little coolant for the project, however it'* a pretty easy one if you have a uh.. what size ? 10mm universal socket. One bolt is a pain in the butt to get at without the universal

Yeah, that backside bolt sucks.

Might as well clean the TB while your're at it.

Default 94 Bonny with coolant leak at TB

I checked today on availability of the gasket and they said said that the one I was requesting was made out of "O" ring type stuff. If that is the case, where does the water circulate? Does it flow right up to the base of the throttle body to keep it warm or what? Just curious.

thanks

Comes up from the lower intake manifold..into the upper intake and then does a quick loop through the bottom of the TB. Aka...right where that leak is

As for that one bolt. I seriously suggest buying the right mm socket from sears in a universal socket. There isn't room for a universal and a socket...

:P <~~ 1993 SLE when we were about to do a TB gasket (telling us about the bolt)
<~~~ 1993 SLE when I handed him the TB in under 2 minutes.
