Ok over the weekend my Bonnie decided to jack its *** all the way up. So i am figuring that I have a bad sensor, that is telling it tha its draggin its *** so has pumped the struts full. I have pulled the link off the "A:" arm and pushed it as far down as it will go to see if it will release the air from the struts but to no avail. I figure the sensor is bad. What am wondering is can I pull an airline somewhere to allow the struts to drop back to a more normal ride hight, and then maybe pull a fuse to the compressor so it doesn;t pump them back up again till I can replace the sensor. Or maybe could un plug the sensor from the wire harness for now.
My car is a 93 SSE, the rear struts were replaced about 2 months ago with Gabriel ones and everything worked fine up till now.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. The quicker the job to do the better too as the weather is shitty and I don;t have a garage to work in.

Until you can test the height sensor properly, pulling a line and then allowing it to fill to a good height then pull the fuse is a viable option.

Then when the weather was decent, I'd diagnose the sensor and like you suspect...it'* probably bad.

on your drop down fuse box above the drivers side foot well the fuse for the ELC system is 12 IIRC

you can pull any of the lines to release the air....i wouldnt recommend that you release all the air, only some

since the struts are good, it sounds as the height sensor as died

I would first check to see if the rod that goes to the sensor has been disconnected from the control arm. Also, the sensor is little more than a switch and should easily be cleaned with contact cleaner if that is what is wrong.

Another thing to check is the relay...does your pump actually turn off when it is full or is it on all the time? If it is on all the time, suspect the relay got stuck.

So far you guys seem to be thinkin the same as me. I wasn;t sure if it was possible.
Any suggestion on the easiest line to pull?
Also what does IIRC mean after the fuse suggestion?

IIRC = if i remember correctly

you can pull the line at the compressor under the hood, that prolly is the easiest

and IIRC is if i recall correctly. On your fuse block it sould give you a description of the fuse locations

The compressor is not running all the time, so I get the feeling the sensor has got itself confussed somehow. Am not sure
I have already disconnected the rod from the A arm and left it disconnected so it didn;t try to fill the struts anymore. I didn't want them to over inflate. I am guessing at the moment my rear is about 2 inched higher than it should be. measured at the wheel wells.

I doubt you will blow your air struts by using the airpump alone. Air will start leaking around the o-rings before that happens I think

Ok pulled the airline off the comp. Very Quick and easy Thanks for the suggestion.
Have lowered the back down. Whew.
But I was wondering if someone vcould give a measurement for ride hight. Well an approx. Say measured from the top or the rear tire to the Fender lip or something, just a quick one so I can set it in the ball park area.
