Default Need 96 PCM help.

Need 96 PCM information.

I am trying to find a spare PCM for my 96 Regal 3800 II.

If I can find a PCM out of another 96 Regal 3800 II car will it still have to reprogrammed at a GM dealership?

If you have replaced a 96 PCM, please any info will help.

If the car has a Pass Key II ignition system where the key has a little black thing in the middle, then it probably won't work. I know in my '96 PA another '96 PCM would would allow the car the crank over, but it wouldn't fuel the engine bacause it wasn't recieving the proper signal from the ignition key and Pass Key module.

I'm not really familiar with what would need to be done to get another PCM to run in your car, but I wouldn't hold any confidance in the extra PCM working without doing anthing other than changing the PCMs.

I think you could get another PCM to work if you do a security relearn procedure, but I'm not sure how do do that on your car (or my car). I tried the procedure for the 1997 and up Bonnevilles on my car, but it didn't work right.
