Has anyone had any problems with their door seals shrinking ? This is a 93 Bonneville with less than a 100,000 miles . I think I'm going to have to replace the carpet at this point . Thanks for any input in advance .

Thanks for that link 3800 . I"m glad to see that I didn't get some kind of a freak car , but saddened to see that GM still has goofy problems like this . I think I may do as one person did and R and R the seals to relocate the gap at the bottom and then use some of that sticky clay like substance that is used on trailers and RV'* . Actually , one could probably take the seals off and put that stuff on the car body and then replace the seals over it . You can buy this stuff , don't know it'* actual name , at hardware stores and RV parts places. It has the paper backing and comes in a roll about twelve inches across .

The RV sealant is a good idea. But keep something in mind, your car is over 12 years old now. Also keep in mind, that my seals on the 93 and 95 both have the ends located at the bottom. Someone may have had yours out at one point, and put them back wrong. I've never had a leak on either of mine at the doors, others have, but it'* not a COMMON problem, or at least not until the seals get older. Either jr's3800 or myself, or any other Moderator or Gearhead can give you the GM part numbers for any seals you may need to replace.

Is it your rear carpet???.......if so check your rear wheel walls I've counted 4 bonnies so far same hole and the water goes through the trunk and down on the back floor and all 4 were on the passanger rear.......thats strange

i have the same problem. i know when i take my car to the power wash for a quick wash my drive seat has some water on it(not much at all but you can tell). and i noticed after my car sat for so long my car started to smell moldy like. problem was water on my rear pass side floor.
