Problem with Heating & A/C Unit in my 1992
 

Hello Everyone,
I own a 1992 Bonneville Se. This car doesnt have auto climate control. The problem that has occured is, Now that it's summer i just keep it on AC but, on some night's i need the heater on. So i turn the knobs to heat and defrost. It switch's without problem to defrost, floor, vents, etc, etc. The unit doesnt switch to Heat, It still comes out Ice cold. I went to the junk yard grabbed a different set of control's thinking maybe, NOT, I was wrong.. Now, Are the vacuum lines on the passenger side for the cold air blend door?? Does anyone by any chance have a picture?? I want to see if i have any vacuum to the valve but, i would like to know which one it is. I know on the actual Hot and Cold knob on the back there are No vacuum lines, It looks like it's electrical. On occasion it has switched but, took a few hours to switch back to cold. This thing has a mind of it's own. Anyone have any idea's?? I already know it's not the Black vacuum tee on the firewal. thats already been checked.

I can't remember if the blender door is vacuum or electrically actuated. It is my opinion, however, since your air still comes out where you want it to, not just the feet and defroster, it's not a vacuum leak. In fact, I'm pretty sure, cause if you take off the vacuum supply of the reservior, you can still change the temp in an otherwise properly working climate control.

Yeah, it's electrical. Behind the glovebox is the temp blender door. I don't think it would have it's own fuse, so it's probably the actuator. I'm gonna go to ACDelco.com and see what turns up.

Is yours either one of these? Keep in mind that the pictures may be from opposite sides.

Thanks, I will have to get to that as soon as the rain stop's. They say next thursday. Anyone know where i can get a good deal on an Ark? LOL
