Best way to repair/fix dash separation/warp by defrost, airbag???
Does anyone know of a good way to fix the problem of the dash separating or warping due to the heat? Here are a few photos of the problem area by the passenger airbag and defrost vent panel.
As you can see, the small vinyl piece that goes under the defrost panel and airbag piece has completely been torn off due this warping. So I just can't go and slide it back under.
Another problem is, since it has curled up it will be very hard to make it stay down. I was thinking of some kind of glue (liquid nails?) and some kind of expandable bar wedged in from the windshield to the dash.
Any other recommendations? I would prefer to stay away from those ugly carpet mats. And unfortunately a whole new dash is out of the question since it is all one piece, hard to find, and may get pricey.
I am just waiting for an unprovoked air bag deployment from the heat popping that up too
Thanks
