Remove Rev limiter
is there any way to remove or override the rev limiter in a 97 se? its only when the car is stopped and i cant rev above 3800. it sucks when you're trying to make an exhaust video and u cant rev above 380rpms.

That'* the most damaging thing you can do to your engine, short of running it without oil. That'* why the limiter is there. I wouldn't suggest doing that at all.

In park or neutral, the PCM will limit your revs to prevent you from doing the most damaging thing you can do to your engine short of running it without oil. The PCM limits the RPM'* if you're not in a drive gear.
It cannot be removed, nor do you want to.

I didnt even realize the revs were limited in park or neutral I thought it was like my 99 grand am where I could rev it to the max while rolling in neutral or is that different?

Even if you are rolling in neutral, it will limit to 4000 rpm.
As Bill stated, it'* for very good reason.
You could always put it in drive, depress the brake and floor the throttle ala burnout in the water pits.
Mmmmmm. Exhaust note with the smoke of burning rubber.

4000rpm is plenty high enough to rev, even if making an exhaust video or whatever. My STE has a 3000rpm limiter in park & neutral, another 1k would be nice, but I don't have any reason to need to rev it that high.

This free revving to redline is promoted on some TV shows like Hotrod and others where you see a pic of the tach bouncing off redline.
